Recent Changes To This Site
The following is a list of the changes made to the design and functionality of this web site. The date of the
last change to the data shown on this site can be found at the foot of each page.
15 Mar 2009:
- I have added the option of showing pages of results following a search of the site instead of showing all results which can sometimes take a while to load; the default action is to limit pages to display 10 results at a time but other options are 20, 50 and 100 results, as well as showing all results.
23 Dec 2007:
- I have linked in place names that are listed on the site with Google Maps so that when a place name is clicked on it will open a small map window showing that place.
22 Nov 2005:
- The web site has been transferred to my new ISP, Freedom2Surf. There have been minor changes to the scripts that the site uses due to this change but there have been no changes to the functionality of the site overall. Please notify the Webmaster if you experience any problems.
09 Feb 2003:
- The whole web site has been rewritten to the latest XHTML 1.0 standard. This has the advantage (over the HTML 4.01 standard that I previously worked to) of being viewable on non-PC browsers. There have been no changes to the functionality of the site due to this change but please notify the Webmaster if you experience any problems.
05 Jan 2003:
- Cross-Reference page upgraded: As promised, this feature has been upgraded to feature all surnames and their contributors.
24 Dec 2002:
- Cross-Reference page added: This new page links each surname to its contributors to make it easier to contact the relevant person. At present the only surnames listed are those that feature in the top 10 lists of each contributor - this will be upgraded in time to feature all surnames.
- Names page changed: The Names page now carries a link to the new Cross-Reference page. The link is only visible if the Names page is entered via the Surnames page.
20 Jul 2002:
- Surnames page changed: The single surnames page was getting too large so it has been split up into a page for each letter.
14 Jul 2002:
- Links to download the GEDCOM files removed: The files were getting too large to download and concern had been expressed over the amount of private data in the full version.
03 Feb 2002:
- Message Board added: Leave your messages to the Administrator or other TGF Contributors here.
- Link to Family 1 on Home Page removed. This was a throwback to when it was purely a one-man web site!
